Medium and Large Dog Collar Sizing: Using M, L and XL Ranges Correctly

October 05, 2026

Medium and large dog sizing becomes easier when you stop treating M, L and XL as breed labels and use the actual neck ranges instead.

For the Evervain Studio personalized collar set, the current ranges are M 27–41 cm, L 33–52 cm and XL 37–60 cm.

Start with one measurement

Measure around the normal collar position with a flexible tape. Write the number down before comparing it with the chart.

Expect overlap between M, L and XL

A neck measurement in the high 30s can appear in all three ranges. That overlap reflects adjustability, not a reason to ignore sizing.

Avoid choosing from body size alone

A broad-looking dog does not automatically need XL, and a dog commonly described as “medium” does not automatically need M. Neck structure varies between individual dogs.

Consider position within the range

If the measurement is near the maximum of a size, compare the next range rather than choosing purely by the smallest letter that fits. The current product page should remain the final specification.

Once sizing is settled, choose the pattern, set combination and personalization for the bone-shaped buckle. Additional ordering guidance is available in our FAQ.
