Small Dog Collar Sizing: How to Use the XS and S Measurement Ranges

October 04, 2026

“Small dog” is not a collar size. Even among small pets, neck measurements can vary enough that choosing from appearance alone creates unnecessary guesswork.

For the Evervain Studio personalized collar, the current ranges are XS 20–31 cm and S 22–32 cm. Because these ranges overlap heavily, the measurement matters more than the letter.

Measure the pet, not the breed

Use a flexible tape where the collar normally sits. Record the neck measurement without pulling the tape tightly.

Understand the overlap

A 25 cm measurement appears in both XS and S. That does not mean size does not matter; it means both ranges cover that number at different points in their adjustment.

Look at where the measurement sits in the range

If the neck is close to one size’s upper limit, compare the neighboring size. If it sits nearer the center of a range, that may leave more room for adjustment.

Recheck before personalizing

Because the collar also carries a customized bone-shaped buckle with name and phone number, it is worth confirming size before completing the personalized order.

Use the current size chart on the product page as your final reference. For other order questions, see the Evervain Studio FAQ.
